Vave AML Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
This English (Ireland) summary reflects the anti-money-laundering and verification provisions in the current Vave legal material. Check the official terms and privacy policy for the latest requirements.
Purpose and Scope
Vave applies anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing controls to registration, deposits, betting activity, withdrawals and account management. Customers must not use the service to transfer, disguise or convert unlawfully obtained funds.
Customer Responsibilities
Customers must provide accurate information, cooperate with reasonable verification requests and use payment methods and cryptocurrency wallets they control. Suspected illegal activity may be reported to the appropriate authority.
Identity Verification
Vave may request a passport or other government identity document showing name, photograph, date of birth and citizenship. It may also request a selfie, a dated verification note, a phone or video call and proof of residential address issued within the requested period.
Source of Funds and Wealth
Where risk is higher, customers may be asked to explain or evidence the source of a deposit, wallet or accumulated wealth. Evidence can include payment records, bank statements, payslips, business records or other lawful documentation.
Payment and Wallet Ownership
Deposits must come from the customerโs own funds. Third-party payment methods or wallets may be rejected. Withdrawals can be held while ownership, transaction history, bonus conditions or account identity are checked.
Transaction Monitoring
Vave monitors deposits, bets, withdrawals, devices, locations and linked accounts for patterns associated with fraud, sanctions evasion or money laundering. Rapid deposits and withdrawals, minimal betting, chargebacks, multiple payment methods and inconsistent information can trigger review.
Enhanced Due Diligence
Additional checks may apply to high-risk transactions, jurisdictions, politically exposed persons or unusual account behaviour. Vave may ask for more documents, restrict deposits, delay withdrawals, reject a transaction or close an account where risk cannot be resolved.
Prohibited Activity and Reporting
Fraud, identity misuse, stolen payment instruments, collusion, duplicate accounts, sanctions breaches and attempts to hide the source or destination of funds are prohibited. Vave may suspend activity and disclose relevant information when required by law.
Data Retention
Verification and account-activity records are retained as required by applicable AML law. The current Privacy Policy states a five-year retention period for registration and account-activity information. Access is limited to authorised staff, providers and authorities with a lawful need.
